Absolutely NO Labor Involved!

Once again we were on the road. This time we were off to St. Pete for the Labor Day weekend. We headed down on Friday and got there in time for a short visit with daughter #1 before heading out to pick up grand daughter Olivia from school. Then, it was pretty much the Friday of anyone with teens/tweens in their home. Our first stop was to purchase a birthday gift for Liv's friend. Then, home to wrap and change and we were off to the other side of St. Pete to drop her off at a party before we headed to dinner downtown. We went to a sports bar right near the stadium and the "vibe" of the town on a Friday night was fun. Daughter #2 and grand daughter Morgan arrived right on time from Gainesville. Then the night got a bit tricky with needing to be in two places at the same time - on opposite ends of the town -  as most moms need to do on occasion, but we worked it out!

We were so lucky to be able to go to the St. Pete H.S. vs Gibbs H.S. game where we got to see grand daughter Caitlin perform with the Devilettes. They are really good and it is so much fun to see her dancing her heart out. Can't believe so many years have gone by since she was just a "tiny dancer" on stage with her sparkly tutu!

On Saturday, we headed to a restaurant recently purchased by my daughter's friend. Since I grew up in south Florida, it reminded me very much of the kind of places we loved down there-very laid back, old Florida.

Tory got us a table not only looking right out to the water but also with a TV right above so we didn't miss a minute of the first Gator game of the season - life was good! And so was the food! We started with fried pickles and onion rings with a fabulous horse radish dipping sauce. Let's just say that none of that went wasted. Then, I think our orders ran the gamut from flat bread pizza to salads to crab cake or grilled grouper sandwiches. Everything was so delicious.

Then, it was back to the house to prepare for the evening's party. The day was perfect and the view spectacular. Suffice it to say that once the guests started arriving and all of these seats were filled - and then some - I forgot to take another picture. Could have something to do with the ever-flowing wine, beer and sangria but I think it was more that I was enjoying catching up with good friends and meeting new ones.

It is always almost impossible to pull ourselves away from this view, but pull we did and we are now home and trying to get back on some sort of schedule. We have a busy week with eye doctor appts., dentist, volleyball game, car back in the shop to finish seat belt repair, SIL birthday, etc. but I promise I will take pictures where needed and I will be back soon so you don't miss a bit of my "exciting" comings and goings. Stay tuned.
