Ole!!!

What a fun weekend we had. The whole family gathered at our house to help Olivia celebrate her 12th birthday! With all of the schedules and conflicts the kids now have, these big family get-togethers are harder and harder to pull off-but pull off we did!

The birthday girl decked out in her sombrero!

Any time we get the whole group together, we try for a picture-sometimes more successfully than others. This one is pretty good although some of the kids claimed they didn't know we would do this and they weren't "ready" for pictures. Since we were all going very laid back and casual today, I was fine with it. Heck, if they are even 10 feet within the frame of the picture I am O.K. with it. I have been doing this a long time and have learned that we usually get better pictures when we aren't so fussy!

Presley put a ring on her head like a halo and wanted me to take a picture of her as an angel. Before I could snap it, her brother swooped in with a few embellishments!

Harrison is reveling in the fact that he was allowed to actually have a "real" Coke (although some of it did get poured into the garden when he wasn't looking) because this is not a common occurrence. But, today wasn't a common day-Har had taken 3 first place finishes in his swim meet earlier in the day down in Tavares.

Hudson looking cute!

The four amigas!

The four amigas get photo bombed by Kristin!

Hannah and Hudson. Totally amazed that Hannah's eyes are even open because besides playing varsity volleyball two matches a week (and all of the practices that that entails), Hannah was up before dawn for this week's varsity cross country meet where she once again took first place for Eastside H.S. See what I mean about schedules?

Crazy celebrating! Too much sugar in some cases-too many margaritas in others?

This picture cracks me up. I don't know if the boys just pulled this too far down on Papa's head or he just doesn't "rock" a sombrero but I think he looks a bit like he needs overalls and to be driving a tractor instead of kicking his heels up at a fiesta!

You can tell that this was a super laid back day-something usually hard for me to do, but so much nicer on the nerves. We simply put the food out on the bar in the kitchen and everyone helped themselves and then settled wherever they wanted to eat. Some of the guys were in the family room watching college football, others were out by the pool and the younger ones kind of gravitated to the sun room and just pushed some stuff out of the way. Notice the lovely mix of autumn and fiesta-this never would have happened in my "younger" years. So glad I am FINALLY learning to chill a bit!

Going to spend a few days planning and catching up and heading off on some autumn day trips and then I am starting on my Halloween decorating-stay tuned. It really IS coming!
