And This, as They Say,.......

....is the rest of the story.

Some time back in February, I posted about my very frustrating experience of trying to get my driver's license renewed. This was the first time I actually had to go in to the Driver's License Dept. in many, many years. But, since I was probably the only person in the state of Florida left with one of those old "blue" licenses, my time had come. I needed one of the new ones that can be scanned in a flash.

You can go back and read the whole sordid story again but suffice it to say I had no proof acceptable to them of proof of name change (by marriage-wedding certificate would not do!). And so, after the help of my son-in-law and his connections in the county system of Florida (although they tell me anyone can do the same thing. Try as I might, St. Lucie Co. kept telling me I did NOT have a marriage filed there. Todd somehow broke through the mess and found me the book and page #s where my license was filed), I was good to go. Since we have had such a busy few weeks, I put off going but decided today was the day. I must say that both of the ladies I came in contact with were polite and knowledgeable. And, because I finally had all of my ducks in a row, I was done and out of there in record breaking time-not at all the same experience as last time. And, I don't have to go back for 8 more years!

In mopping up yet another loose detail, in my last post I mentioned how I did not like the way the niche in my dining room was looking. I set out to find a banner on Pinterest and I found one that I think fills in the blank just right.

I actually found many but chose this one for its colors. I got the free download at a blog called "at Second street" and simply printed the letters and then matted them in a spring green. I still had lots of this pretty green and pink ombre silk ribbon from past crafting so it was a totally free to me project-can't get better than that.

And lastly, I wanted to throw in this picture that just made its way to me. It was taken at Hudson's VPK on their Grandparents Day. Got to love that face!

There. No more loose ends. We can all sleep better tonight! I am off to get in new trouble. Stay tuned.

  1. Glad to hear you are legally married and I am not a "you-know-what"! Also, I like the banner a lot. In our house, we have already moved onto Halloween because of all the spiderwebs and such!
