Happy Saturday!

Happy Saturday. A fairly busy week is over ending with a wonderful "happy hour" at daughter #3's yesterday. I love it when she includes me in these fun get-togethers because I always get to not only catch-up with family but also with her friends-many who have been around since her school years. I have watched them all grow up along with my own and it is fun to see where life has taken them.

Today is another scorcher as expected and daughter #3 and her hubby are stopping by later this afternoon so I am just going to stay inside until then so I don't need yet another shower. Thought as long as I am doing that, I would finish up our late summer decor tour-even though we are not exactly even into late summer just yet. You know me...as soon as this has been in my house for 4-5 weeks, I will be pushing on to autumn-who cares what Mother Nature is out there screaming! Lol

And so, let's head into the family room.

This is where the new canvas ended up. Nothing great but it brings home the theme without yet another vase full of sunflowers...because, I have changed my mind-a person CAN have too many sunflowers.  Lol

I went back to the greenery garland on the mantle and then "beefed" it up with greenery picks I had on hand. When the twinkle lights were woven in, they are much less intrusive than when I just had them laying across the mantle. These lights have a pretty aggressive twinkle pattern but I like it when it isn't quite as distracting as it can be when the lights aren't somewhat hidden.

This is also where the muslin and burlap sunflower sign found a home and I think I like it there.

My original thought had been to use the large wooden sunflower on the mantle as well but it was just too tall and felt way off balance so I moved it down to the hearth and I like it.

The corner area stayed pretty simple.

The TV unit is always hard for me to decorate because these shelves are large and very deep. I took out two of the things that used to be here-and found new homes for them-so I could add in our two new things.

I really love the antique (by accident) mirror image.

I'm still happy with my "free" craft that I did a few years ago. This was an old apple cider jug that we used to save pennies in and a free downloaded image and hang tag. I needed something with some size to fit this tall shelf and this definitely fills the bill.

And here is where the pallet sign landed.

And that finishes up this year's late summer decor tour. If I should find anything new to add, you'll be the first to know but, I will have to admit, it will have to literally fall from the sky and hit me over the head because I am no longer looking for sunflower ideas. I have moved on to autumn and, I have even started peeking at some Halloween. Time moves quickly in my crafting world. Lol Stay safe and stay tuned.

P.S. So it seems as if something DID fall from the sky and hit me over the head. Well, it actually has been sitting next to me for a long time but I just focused on it right before I hit the "publish" button on this blog. Guess that means I'll be back sooner than I thought with one more sunflower craft.
