Pre-Birthday Celebrations

We always joke that the women in our family know how to "milk" a birthday. And, since I am now the matriarch - yikes! - I guess they have all learned from the best. With that in mind, my celebration this year started before my month actually did!

On Saturday, daughter #2 came down where we were joined by grand daughter #5 and we were off for a day of my wishes. I chose a favorite place for lunch and then, instead of all of the wonderful offers presented to me including a pedicure, movie, etc., would you believe I chose running errands and hunting down craft supplies? Yes, I know, that is something I could do alone but it was so much more fun with these two.

And, Becky knows me too well. She brought along goodies from a gourmet bakery in Gainesville as well as three bouquets of my favorite flowers. My house literally smells like an English garden!

And, see my new, little friend? My grand daughter spent the rest of the day with me and when we weren't playing games, she was crafting. She loves nothing better than to get into my craft closet and let her imagination soar. Today it was this cute leprechaun and three amazing rabbit drawings. I will post those once I find just the right frames-they are amazing...at least this non-biased (lol) Nana thinks so!

And then yesterday found us out at my grandson's H.S. where he was serving as a model and an escort at the 2020 Trinity H.S. Anchor Runway Fashion Show and Auction. The girls' dresses are auctioned off and all proceeds from the entire event go to benefit Kimberly's Center for Child Protection. I am very proud of Har as he was the only freshman asked to participate in this event.

It was such a fun event and, as I told Harrison, "you probably would never get hit by a car while wearing that tux" Lol Fashions have changed-lots of the boys' shoes were glittery like Dorothy's but they all looked amazing-and, sometimes, change is good!

Today is my real day so I am off to get ready to go to lunch with my brother and sister-in-law. Let the celebrating continue! Stay tuned.
