Let's Wrap It Up!

With Halloween less than a week away and me heading out of town for all of that time, I guess it is time to wrap up this year's tour. Let's try to catch all of the areas we've missed starting with the sunroom. Everything in here is pretty much the same as last year.

I have a few pictures of the master bedroom ready for the holiday. I like to have a bit of whatever holiday in all of the rooms of my house but the bedroom has gotten a bit more each year because it is where all of the "over-flow" of pictures go. If everybody is home and all of the guest rooms are being used, I will disperse these pictures throughout those rooms as well but, this year that isn't happening so here is where they will be. Lol

Just a nod in the master bath.

And, lastly, the guest bath.

That is it for the Halloween house tour 2022. I am having a hard time believing that the next time we will be chatting, we will be in November! I'm sure I will make time to post my pictures from my trip and then I will be on to Thanksgiving. We will be doing Thanksgiving in my home town this year but daughter #3 and her family have asked to be hosts...and, I am having no problem with that. lol We will be missing some of the gang but we will be thankful for those who are here!

Have a BOO-tiful Halloween and stay safe and stay tuned.

Wow!

I'm home from my long weekend in Gainesville and have a little catching up to do before daughter #1&2 arrive home from High Point, N.C. tomorrow and I am off to St. Pete for the week. This is my favorite time of the year and I love that I get to cram in so much fun!

With that being said, I only have 2 more chances to finish our tour so let's head into the family room today and then we can catch all of the other bits and pieces tomorrow.

I was thinking it might be time to change things up a bit, but I really haven't had the time this year. I don't want to buy new things...just maybe move some things around. Guess that will have to wait until next year. lol

I had the most perfect autumn weekend with family. My brother and sister-in-law came here on Friday and we had a nice visit as well as getting to pick grand daughter #5 up from school. Then we headed to Gainesville where daughter #2 met up with us and I spent the rest of the weekend at her house. She and her hubby went out of their way to spoil me and I enjoyed every minute of it! The weather was perfect and we spent a lot of it outdoors as well as having a chance to see "Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris".

The main reason for the visit was to do the "Walk to End Alzheimer's"...a cause very close to our family. It was a bit of an emotional day but also one full of hope! It was a bit overwhelming to see so many purple flowers...those who have lost people to this disease as well as all of the yellow for caregivers and even a blue or two...people currently battling the disease. The weather was beautiful and the two miles went quickly!

I'm off to do some wash, pay some bills, etc. so I can head to St. Pete without a care in the world. Lol I'll be back tomorrow to finish up the tour because as soon as I return, I will be on to Thanksgiving! Stay safe and stay tuned.

Moving On

Let's head into the dining room today. Today is the only day this week that I don't have to be somewhere or that I don't have family and friends coming by so, I made myself a list of a few things that need to be done and I'm checking them off but thought I would give myself-and my furry grand dog who is here with me for a week and follows me everywhere-a bit of a break...just enough of a break to get another room tour done. Somehow I have forgotten that I am going to be gone for awhile and when I return Halloween will be over so I had better get cracking!

I still love that spider table runner that I found at Bombay Co. In fact, almost every holiday some of my favorite decor items are from there. I sure wish that store was still around!

I used to have all of my "family" portraits out on the mantle in the family room and I loved that arrangement.

Then, one day I just decided that I needed a change...and they ended up here. I like them here but I'm missing the old frames hanging willy nilly...maybe next year I will see what I can do about that.

So that is it for this year's dining room. I did go find the old frames I used with the photo gallery and thought I could just pop in a few nails, hang the wreaths and see what I thought but, as so often happens with me, one thing led to another. The wood on the dining room cupboards is HARD. I couldn't get a small nail to even begin to go into it. And so, I was off to do what I often do in that instances. I grabbed my Dremel and was going to drill a small starter hole. But, the battery on the Dremel finally needed charging. I almost charged it the last time I was using it but, they usually say to wait until the battery completely dies before charging. And so now it has. Lol And so, I guess I will let you know how I like it the next time we meet.

Last night was grandson #2's last football game for this season. Our JV doesn't go on to play offs so the season is done but they went out with a 5-1 record so they're all thrilled. And I am very proud of my grandson. He is a lot like his brother and he plays hard. Mother Nature co-operated and it was a beautiful evening all around. And, to add the cherry on top, as he was in the bleachers watching his younger brother, grandson #1 got a call. He stepped away for a few minutes and when he returned he told us it was a college football coach offering him a full scholarship. We were all just so happy for him because he is just a great kid and super active in sports, his youth group, his student government (he's student body president ), a number of clubs and groups at school as well as honor society and on the honor roll. I don't know how he does it but he always still has time left over for family and a girlfriend. Lol If he decides that this is where he will be the happiest, I will share the school he has chosen. We all sure had more than enough reason to be smiling in this picture last night.

I'm off to check some more things off my list...if I could just keep from getting side tracked so often and ending up doing things that I had no intention of ever doing. Stay safe and stay tuned.

Here's to the Seniors!

Yay for the seniors...no, I'm not talking about me and my peers. I'm talking about all of the senior athletes who were recognized at last night's last regular season home football game. It was a lovely tribute to so many wonderful kids...football, cheering, cross country and band were last night. Of course, as the reality that this very special young man will soon be moving forward with his life in a place where we will no longer get to see him all of the time set in, a few tears were shed. But we had to get over that quickly because the game started and, once again, TC was in the lead but then the other team would catch up for much of the game. In the end we took the win and the weather co-operated by being an absolutely gorgeous night!

My grandson just dropped my grand dog off at my house. She is going to spend the week with me as there are "construction" things going on at their house and she would go bonkers with all of the commotion. She and I are going to have a quiet weekend before all of the fun of my next week starts. And, once it starts it pretty much doesn't end until November...yikes! Where is my October going?

I'll be back to finish our tour soon...definitely before it is "turkey time". Lol Stay safe and stay tuned.
