It is absolutely beautiful outside right now-the sun is shining so bright but, the air is beginning to stir and we are told that that will be bringing in freezing temperatures later today. I think I might actually have to do some damage control soon so I thought I would try to get this posted for you before then.
There are some changes in the kitchen as I continue to "simplify". That is probably not the best word because I don't think I'm actually doing all that much simplifying-just changing things up a bit and taking out the "cutesy" as I add a bit of "class". Yeah, not a word often used in the same sentence as my name but I'm sticking with it. LOL
I like the little vintage metal Valentines I got at $Tree last year. Even though they could be considered "cutesy" and some of the things I should not be using, I like them and so far, this is the only place I have for them so here they will stay even though they may be competing with my new "classy" decor. Lol
I put the two new images here and added the old floral jam pot that I have had forever. I love the bit of romance it adds to this area. I still put in the handmade pot holders but left out the straws and a few other things that used to be here. I love those images and they will work well right into spring and maybe even Easter...and doesn't it just scream "classy"?!
I still love this wreath that I made from some vintage Valentine cards I had.
This is just one of many of the napkin decoupage plates that my grandchildren and I made over the years. They loved to bake lots of Valentine goodies and then we would package them up on their plates as gifts for family and friends. I actually just pulled out those recipes so I can make some goodies to deliver to the last of my two grands still in town this year.
This was a complete after thought. As I was coming into my office to post this blog, I spied this picture that I picked up at HL some time ago-well before I ordered the "book image" that I now have in the living room. I stuck it in my office and forgot about it until now...and, of course, there isn't really anywhere for it to go now that everything else has found a home. Since I wasn't all that happy with this shelf, I added it here. I think it complements my two other images and I think I like it here but not with the other stuff on the shelf right now. If I wasn't so hungry I would probably spend a bit more time on it but I'm pretty sure I will before too long. Lol
I'm off to eat lunch and then cover some of my plants and move the ones I can lift to the inside. I'll be back to let you see how this ends up and share some more. Stay safe and stay tuned.
Couldn't help myself. I didn't like the red so...
I took down the pizza paddle that was behind it because nothing felt balanced and I found this small hand painted pitcher that I've had for a long time. I'm not crazy about the color of the roses on it but at least there are roses so that kind of relates to the other things. It's getting better but still quite not there. I did also find a hand painted carafe that matches the little pitcher so I'm now looking for a place for that as well. If you give a mouse a cookie......... Lol
