Let's Begin!

We are beginning the inside Valentine Tour 2026 today and let me begin by once again apologizing for the pictures. Between the beautiful sunlight on this gorgeous crisp winter day pouring in the windows and the number of mirrors still in this room, picture taking was not fun. I kept opening up and closing the drapes but, honestly, to no avail so it is what it is...sorry.

Again I was trying to change things up-mostly by paring down...and, I was successful in some areas-others, not so much. Lol

I moved this little Victorian piece out here this year. She's really cute and since I made her last year after I had already decorated, she never found a really good home. I think she has now as she greets you as soon as you enter.

I used to put my vintage typewriter here with a Valentine letter but since I got the mailbox print and I have the mailbox on the wall, I just felt like this was a no-brainer. I had the flower bucket on a doily crocheted by my Nana that is a bit ecru and matches the "shabby" look of the can but then I wasn't happy with there being no other gold except the frame so I added the larger doily that my mom made and I glittered up years ago and it's closer to what I want but still not quite there. I'm starting to think maybe I need another set of those brass entwined hearts here as well. I am pretty sure I will be on the lookout for something "gold" to add soon. Note to self: since I have lots of Rub N' Buff, anything can become gold!! Lol

This area almost killed me to leave this unencumbered! I can't tell you how many times I paused to think about what I could add but, in the end, this won out.

This image is so pretty here but a devil to photograph...you will just have to take my word for it. Lol

I still love this heart that the grands and I made years ago. It was one of those projects that really was SO easy and, as long as you could squirt out glue and pick up and place sequins, it worked perfectly. Even when the boys got a bit "over it" and were no longer perfectly placing one sequin at a time, it worked because all you had to do was give it a minute for the glue to set and then pick it up, turn it over and let the extras fall off.

So that is the living room for now. I feel like some tweaks might be coming but, so far, I still don't have any new craft ideas. All of the ones I am seeing are either something else to hang-which I don't need-or another shelf sitter-which I also don't need. I think I am consigning myself to the fact that I have pretty much used up all of the Valentine craft ideas over my many, many years. That doesn't mean I will stop looking-and you'll be the first to know if something new strikes my fancy. Stay safe and stay tuned.
