Almost Done!

Why don't we head into the family room today and I can show you a bit more of my spring decor before the decorating bug bites even harder and I call "uncle" and move on to the 4th of July. I am ready but trying to hold on just a little longer! After all, it IS still just MAY! LOL

If you look carefully, you will see that the shelves have changed up a bit from the above picture and those below. I picked up another burnished gold lantern at the $Tree and wanted it on these shelves but not two on one side so I simply swapped the container with flowers on the top left to the right and put the new lantern on the left set. Since we're so close to the next swap, I didn't embellish this at all but I'm thinking if I use it for the 4th it will get something to dress it up a bit. For whatever reason, I'm liking continuing the little pops of gold.

I like the sign better since I added a bit of rust to it last year but I did change up the basket a little. As much as I loved the forsythias that were abundant in that basket before, I really was trying to downplay any colors other than the lavenders as much as I could so I just stuck a few daffodils in the very back of the basket to pull the yellow from the sign. I have to be honest-I almost repainted parts of the sign to get rid of the yellow all together. I wanted my spring decor to be more neutral this year but I didn't want to have to replace everything so compromises had to be made.

As I look at the mantle, I already see where I am going to have a dilemma when I switch to the 4th decor. I finally got all of the greenery swagging the way I want and I really thought I would leave it up there for every month with the exception of December where pine just has to rule. But, I do use red, white and blue star lights for the 4th and I like them and, I'm just not sure how the two will go together.

What do you think? Does the greenery have to go? I'm thinking probably.

So that is the family room for this year. Just a bit more to share and we will be finished. Stay safe and stay tuned...and, stay COOL! I just got a lunch invite from my grandson who is home for a short break before heading back to college so I'm off!
