Spring, Spring!!

Beautiful spring!! We are having the most absolutely perfect weather. The sun is shining but the temperatures are moderate, there is a slight breeze blowing and, there isn't a cloud in the very blue sky. This is when I want to spend every minute of the day in the yard. But, it is also the time that my body reminds me that I am not 30 any more so I'm trying to listen to it. Lol

I got out there first thing and raked up six full garbage cans of leaves and small twigs...and all of those from a very small part of my side yard where I had two huge trees removed last year. I was hoping that raking would be easier this year with those trees gone and I think it ultimately will be but this was more than I was bargaining for and I'm far from done-once the cans are full I have to stop until they get emptied in next week's pick-up.

I also got all of the front garden on one side weeded and the brick border evened out again. I think the lawn man must ride over it with his riding mower and they need to be straightened a few times a year. I also got all of the plants frost bitten in the freeze cut back. I have pretty much cut back everything everywhere now so fingers crossed we are done with frosts this year. Lol

So now I am inside catching up on some small things. Thought I would take you to the bathrooms for the St. Pat's decor and then I'll show you some of the other things that are happening while I have my springtime burst of energy.

First, the guest bath.

And, again, just a nod in the primary bath.

I love that little leprechaun that my grand daughters made us many years ago. It has their handwriting on the back which is so special.

A few little updates. I not only got the small piece in the sunroom painted but I also got two coats of black paint on another piece in there that needed an update. I like this piece here so much more now that it is no longer white. This piece really just serves as a catch-all for small gardening tools that I might need on this side of the yard instead of having to go all the way to the other side of the house to grab something. When these things are handy, I find myself more apt to get the chore done when I see it. Sometimes if a trip to the other side of the house is required, I will leave it for another day. Lol

The other black piece also serves as a catch-all for heading out. It is usually where I drop my grocery bags, umbrella and anything else I might anticipate needing on my next trip out. That door right there leads to the garage.

Since I was thinking about painting, I also headed into the guest room that got the newest hand-me-down. My daughter painted it stark white and, since the other piece of furniture I have in that room is kind of an off white, I don't like the contrast. I am experimenting with putting on the antique wax making sure it gets in all of the crevices and then coming back over it with a white chalk paint dry brushed on. I'm thinking I might like it but, since that will be a big project, it will probably start tomorrow when I can just get going and keep at it until it is done.

Then, I got the peat pots finished-for now. I think they will look cute in the living room shelf with the "egg" arrangement in the middle and these on either side. The only thing bothering me right now is the yellow tulips in the arrangement and the lack of yellow in the pots. I will see how they actually look when I am decorating but already thinking I might need to find a small yellow flower for the pots or switch out the yellow tulips...we shall see. Everyone knows I'm not the biggest fan of yellow-don't know why, I'm just not a fan of the color that is supposed to mean you are sunny and happy if you like it. What does that say about me? LOL!!

And, since I was out there raking this morning, I couldn't help but take one more shot of my beautiful bougainvillea. I am so excited that this is finally doing what I had envisioned all those years ago when we put this together.

And, as I was sitting at my desk perusing Pinterest I happened upon another image that I thought would be perfect for the last of those frames that I bought for spring. I just think this is so pretty and will look nice in the living room with the other bird decor that I will use once Easter comes down. Kind of seems like I am wishing my life away but I think it is just this beautiful weather that has me thinking about all of the possibilities. I will be much more sedentary once those 90 plus degree days descend once again. Lol

So I feel as if I have had a pretty productive day. Now I'm off to roast three large trays of veggies so I have something to eat for a few days. Not sure if I'll check in tomorrow or not but until I see you again, stay safe and stay tuned.
