I awoke today to so many possibilities left over from the last few days. Since I have today totally free until I head to lacrosse tonight, I figured I would tackle something. I didn't want to do anything too "heavy" as my back cries enough from sitting in those bleachers as it is-don't need to add any more stress to it. Lol And so, on my way to this:
...where I was going to try to decide what I would want to use as a background for my Easter craft...I walked through the dining room and did this!:
I was liking this piece as a couch table but not "loving" it. I think I always felt like I would like it better here in the dining room but that thing weighs a TON! Let's just say I knew what I was doing by leaving those sliders under it...and they're STILL there just in case. Lol I haven't officially decorated it yet just in case and, if it stays here, I think it might need a big basket for the bottom. I could add a lot of other things as well but I want to add something neutral so it doesn't fight with my holiday decor or need to be changed every time I do a swap...Peter Rabbit will probably soon be hopping off to another home.
All of that being said, I really do think I like this here-especially knowing that the next piece coming to me from daughter #1 is a distressed mantle shelf that I also want to put here above the love seat. But, that meant this would have to move-at least in my brain-because I love that stone console piece so much it has to go somewhere where I will see it often.
And so I moved the rusty wire piece to the other end of the sunroom which makes me a little sad because I loved that piece too but, being smaller, I might be able to find another spot for it easier than this.
I love this piece here. It seems meant to be with the slate floor. There is one big problem with having this piece here though. I usually have more plants here and watering them was easy when they were in the wire piece. If the water spilled over, it was no issue. Having this piece here now, I don't want that to happen so I will either have to be more careful when I water or find something I can put under all of the pots that is attractive. Nothing has actually been re-decorated yet because, in all honesty, the sliders are still under all of the pieces including this one:
Home again, home again, jiggety jig...and kind of funny since just yesterday I tried to convince myself that I was liking it in the bedroom. Lol
I have always been a furniture mover. My husband used to joke that he would have to make sure and look before sitting down after coming home from work because he could never be sure that a chair would still be where it used to be. Lol
And so much for not breaking my back! But, I am going to live with this iteration for a bit and we'll see if those sliders EVER get to come out from under those pieces.
In the meantime, I am back to this:
I have actually already bleached the old wood and scrubbed off the green algae it wore. Now I need to decide if I want to stay neutral and go with a piece of the hymn or bring in my Easter colors a bit. I don't like decisions. I actually thought about maybe cutting another piece of wood and making my background twice as wide so I could incorporate both ideas...and, I was smart enough to leave the miter saw out so I can get going on that in a flash if that's what I decide. Time will tell and you'll be the first to know. Stay safe and stay tuned.
