I am sitting here in absolute denial that tomorrow is the start of December! I am NOT ready to let go of autumn and all of its colors, smells and feels. But, try as I might, I can not stop it from happening so I guess I need to face facts and get moving forward. Lol
There is always so much to be thankful for but, as always with me, if my whole family can make it home safely and we can be together, that is my entire wish!
Most of the "girls" made it home by Wednesday and we made it to the next part of Wicked. It was actually a late evening for some of us but I think we all managed to keep our eyes open. Lol
Daughter #3 and her family hosted on Thanksgiving and the rest of the crew made it home safely to join us there. My daughter is a wonderful hostess and her home was beautifully decorated for the season. We all had more than enough to eat and then I wrangled them together for a group picture. Unfortunately-or, honestly fortunately, I was having such a wonderful time that I really didn't get a lot of photos. I didn't realize that I forgot my traditional picture of me with the seven grands but I did get one of me with each of them.
Black Friday saw those of us still here in town walking from my daughter's house to her office downtown and then on to a late lunch at a favorite downtown restaurant before walking back to her house. We got in more than 4 miles which for me is a LONG walk-and my body reminded me of that the next day.
By Saturday afternoon everyone was headed home to watch the Gators on TV and avoid the traffic they would hit today if they stayed or, actually on to the game. And, of course, a win always makes it better because we haven't seen too many of those this year. Lol
And that brings you back to me sitting here wondering where my life has gone the last few months! I am going to give myself today to bask in the last of autumn's beauty inside of my house and then hit the ground running tomorrow. I just saw where I have a hair appointment at 11 on Tuesday morning which, as you who follow often know, will totally disrupt my decorating mojo but I will just have to work with it.
I'm actually excited for my Christmas decor and once I finally get going I will be fine but I will miss autumn. It will all be good. I will get over it. Lol I'll be back when I have something wonderful to show you but I'm sad to say it probably won't be a new craft. I don't have any ideas just yet and the calendar is starting to fill up so, unless I get a brilliant idea, crafting for this year might be over. Sigh!! Until I see you again, stay safe and stay tuned.
