Do you see those white corbels on the second shelf? They're going to be back in the new year-I don't even know where or how just yet but I couldn't pass them up. Always fun to have a project-even if you're not sure how it will play out!
The sun room has just a simple nod to the holiday.
On to the family room.
The guest bath is next.
And last is the master bath-kind of the same as the autumn decor-no turkeys in here-unless you count me. Lol
This was a super busy weekend and a bit bittersweet. Grandson #1 played his last game in the Marion County Youth Football League...ever! Next year he will be playing in high school! Yikes!! Of course, his brother still has a few more years so we aren't saying good-bye to Jervey Gantt Fields just yet.
After the game, I've had Presley with me most of the weekend and we got caught up on some Thanksgiving fun. First, I helped her make some Indian Corn treats. We have made these before and they are a favorite so she wanted to do them again. She is so grown up now that she could probably do these all by herself but I think she humors me and lets me join in the fun.
These are made just like Rice Krispie treats except you use Reeses Cup Puff cereal and chocolate candies. She prefers Mini-M&Ms so that's what we used.
They need LOTS of butter on your hands to keep them from sticking.
After they're shaped like ears of corn, we inserted a short piece of lollipop stick onto which we tied some raffia husks.
Then we were off to do the exploding turkeys-we adapted these from pumpkins and ghosts when we couldn't fit them into our Halloween party schedule. Since we had all of the supplies ready, we went with it. We started by making baking soda "bombs" in TP packages.
Then we added vinegar to the bags with some corn starch and food coloring just to make them "prettier".
Lastly, we carefully added the bomb, zipped up the bag and watched the fun begin!
