Quiet House!

My house is totally quiet once again as my grand dog has gone home. It is amazing how quickly I get used to having a furry friend around and how long it takes for me to remember that they're not here any more. I still keep thinking about taking her out, feeding her, not "running over her tail" as she lays right underneath my chair in my office, etc. Lol

My plan for this weekend had been to help daughter #3 move into and decorate her new office building. The time had finally come for her to find larger office space as the office in her home could no longer accommodate all of the samples, decor items, swatches, etc. that she has. They found the perfect little house and all of us were excited to help her move in. I'm not sure how I managed it because I hadn't been around another human being in seven days but, I started sneezing, coughing...all of the things. I also had zero energy so, I have been home and down for the count. Today I would say my symptoms are just reading like a nasty head cold but, I don't need to be spreading the germs so I have only gotten to see how things are progressing via messages.

And so, that brings me here to my computer and I thought I would take you into the next room of our tour-welcome to the kitchen.

There are only a few changes in the kitchen...I put the vintage Valentines that I snapped off of the stakes here on the cutting board handles-one on each side of the kitchen.

I added the "candle melting lamp" in the corner of the kitchen. I love that that dark little spot now has this beautiful glow and I really love that it is on a timer so I don't have to remember to turn it off. It was a Christmas gift from grand daughter #2.

This is where both the new heart and the new little heart shaped crock ended up.

So, back to the "if I were a bettin' gal" scenario...you probably guessed it. I couldn't leave well enough alone and I did this.

And yes, it gave me what I wanted but it also read as a bit too much as I knew it would because there is no way to just get a soft touch of paint on that tissue. At this point I was wondering if I should have painted the flat section of the heart red and not the ruffle but...too late now so I tried to think of how I could soften it up and I went with clear glitter. I also glittered up the flat part of the heart and I'm OK with this now.

And here is where it found a home.

Our weather is horrible today but nowhere near as bad as the "severe thunderstorm alert" I received on my phone early this morning-just lots of rain and super gloomy-which is supposed to bring in our next cold front. We need the rain and I'm OK with the cold because it is winter after all...not to mention that this weather gives me all the more reason to have a super lazy Sunday afternoon. Stay safe and stay tuned.
