So, I am having one of those days where I am needing to stay busy but not so busy that I can't pick up and leave at a moment's notice. I got a message just yesterday that my pest control service would be today. Florida Pest Control was bought out by a new company so we can no longer count on a certain day or month for our visits. Of course, the only time I couldn't be here is this afternoon when it was scheduled-I have a hair appointment-so I called to reschedule. They changed it to today-8am-11:59am. Of course, that meant that I had to be ready as early as 8...but, I am still waiting. And, this new company has been anything but reliable so even though I have email confirmation of the switch, I'm really not sure he will show up before I have to leave...and, I still have to dress to leave. And so, I'm doing silly little things so I can let him in if he arrives but I don't want to get into anything involved just in case either. Does anyone understand what I just said?
In any case, I headed where I often do and that was to Pinterest. I think I told you that I had a 4th of July idea so I started looking for images that I might want to use. And then it always takes some maneuvering to get it to the right size to fit in the odd shaped opening. Here is the image I settled on.
I have the wood star and I have the faux tile already and this is where I am going with it.
I would like to give this creator credit for this image but I have no idea who it was. Of course, my image will be different as will my embellishments. At this point, I'm not sure what I will sit it on. This looks like an old spindle and I don't have any but maybe I could rig something similar up with some random wood shapes. I see another trip to HL in my future. I have lots of cream colored silk ribbon but none in red or blue so I think tomorrow I might try to dye some just using thinned down acrylic paint. And, I'm guessing, as it actually gets closer to July, I will be able to purchase some of the red, white and blue berry sprigs. I might be the only person in the world to be thinking about 4th of July when it is 20 some degrees outside but it has kept me busy.
I also got my usual tulips for the bar so things are looking a bit better there now.
Off to change-and he'll probably come just as I do. Lol Stay safe and stay tuned.
