After we were all full from a wonderful meal at Baileys, the girls wanted to go to the corn maze. It is something they have done before and they had been looking forward to a repeat performance, so off we went.
This maze is put on by Eliada Children's' Home in Asheville. It includes several lengths and levels of mazes, hayrides, corn husk cannons, large slide tubes, food vendors and lots of children's games and photo-ops. It was a clear, crisp day - into evening - and we had so much fun!
For someone who always professes to be non-competitive, I sure basked in my hit! Take that, Pumpkin Man!!
Here's Jennie on her way down. This was really fun. If I didn't think I would have seemed a bit "odd", I could have spent much time just sliding down, coming back up and doing it again and again! It really doesn't take much to keep me happy!
The kids' maze and hay play area is on the right and the two, larger more complex mazes are off to the left.
Waiting for the hayride while the girls are off rolling down the hills.
We left a bit after dark and headed back to the hotel. The girls settled in with a scary movie and we all sat around and talked , ate leftovers and whined about how fast the time went!
The next morning we were up bright and early and eating a good breakfast before hitting the road for the trip home. It seemed so much longer because we did it all in one day, but it was a nice drive without too much traffic and we all arrived home safe and sound and full of a myriad of memories.
And now we are into November. My house is decorated for Thanksgiving and the plans have begun. We are also keeping busy with play-offs and awards for all sorts of sports and trying to be outdoors and enjoying our beautiful weather as much as possible. So much more to come. Stay tuned.
