Such Fun!!!

Wow, what a wonderful four days we had! Almost don't know where to start. Grand daughters #1 and #3 were coming for a few days of end-of-summer fun. We usually try to keep this kind of visit low key because it is getting rarer and rarer that we have the kids when there isn't some kind of celebration going on. That was our plan this time also, but, once again, life had other plans.

We started the visit with a lovely drive home where we caught up on so much of the girls' summer and back-to-school plans. Hannah is a senior this year while her sister will be starting as a "lowly" freshman at the same school. Hannah is student body president so I figured there might be a little "helping hand" for her sister those first few days when "H.S. jitters" are sure to kick in but it sounds like she has the "initiation by fire" plan going instead-haha! We decided on dinner at Carrabbas and then home for a movie. They wanted one they hadn't seen, so settled on "Sleeping With the Enemy"-still scary to me but I guess compared to today's reality stuff, it was kind of tame.

I let them sleep late the next day and then we headed out. Hit a few stores, had lunch, Hannah went to my hair dresser for a good cut and style (senior pictures in 9 days so that was kind of scary but he knew just what she wanted and she was happy), and then home for a good game of Michigan rummy with Papa before dinner and another movie-this time "Philadelphia"-I remembered this was sad but not quite how sad! Yikes!

The next morning we were up and out early! Our princess was turning four and it needed to be done in style! Actually, instead of a party this year, my daughter decided it would be more memorable for Presley and her friend to have princess make-overs at Disney and Hannah, Morgan and I were lucky enough to tag along!

We started the day at Downtown Disney while we were waiting for our make-over appointment. There really is so much to do that the little kids don't even realize that they aren't really in Disney World yet! I am not overly enthusiastic about Disney because it is usually hot, crowded, over-priced and has "slow moving" lines and long waits, but I always admit that they "do it right"!! No detail is over-looked. And, seeing the looks on the kids' faces is worth every bit of inconvenience or discomfort! It really is the happiest place on earth!

Waiting patiently at the "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique" to hear "Princess Presley" called.

So excited she can hardly stand it! She got to pick out the make-over she wanted and was it any surprise that she chose the one with "pink hair"?

After soooo much fun, we were on our way to the Grand Floridian Hotel for dinner with the characters from Cinderella.

Even pink haired princesses need a nap now and then!

Wow! If the Grand Floridian is even a small representation of what "old" Florida was like, I think I would have loved it!

Fabulous food and wonderful entertainment-I think the adults loved it all as much as the little princesses! Check out the sprinkles on the birthday cupcake-Mickey Mouse shaped-once again, right down to every detail! And, that Mickey face is made out of chocolate!!

After dinner, we took a monorail ride through the "kingdom" before heading home. It was a wonderful, wonderful day but still not the end of our "princess" weekend. There's more for tomorrow. Stay tuned.
