O.K. I was so going to be blogging about my splendiferous Valentine's decorations in my next post-this post to be exact. But, as always happens, life got in the way. I have started the new year having a bit too much fun and still holding tight to my holiday decorations. I have vowed to myself that they will come down tomorrow. We'll just have to wait and see.
I spent a few days out of town this week. Had a nice visit with my mom and then visiting with daughter #2 and her family. Arrived back in Ocala just in time to see Harrison read his "essay" and be inducted into the Eagle Reader Club-a big deal if you are a student at 8th Street Elementary School. This is the oldest school in Ocala and yet everyone still wants their children to attend this school. It takes you back to the old days of what schools used to look like-although rest assured, they are beyond up to date on the newest technology!
Harrison with the asst. principal as he is reading.
Receiving congratulations from the principal.
So proud of himself with his award certificate!
Then, I spent a wonderful day down at the Shoppes of Wiregrass with my youngest daughter. We hit the most fabulous sales but the highlight of the day was really the gorgeous weather and our lovely meal outdoors at a new (to us) restaurant. It is so much fun to sit there enjoying the day and all of the hustle and bustle going on around us. I am a pretty good shopper but, I must say, my daughter put me to shame on this day. And, since she had returned a pretty expensive gift, she got a lot of what she bought for no extra cost to her! My kind of girl!
Then, today, my hubby and I were back in Gainesville to help my mom celebrate her 91st birthday. My brother and sister-in-law brought everyone their favorite seafood meal and my mom pretty much wiped out her fried shrimp, french fries and cole slaw. Then, we had her favorite pie for dessert and she ate 2 pieces of that as well. It is good to see her appetite return! We had a really nice afternoon with her.
So, you see, I am having way too much fun to get down to work but I fear the time has come. My tree is still so alive but unless I want to start dusting it, it has probably been up long enough. Guess tomorrow will be the day-unless I get a better offer. Stay tuned.
Sounds like you are keeping busy. Don't forget me down here. Perhaps I can meet you at Wiregrass sometime!!??!! I, too, like to shop.
