I am back and trying to get back into routine but after the week I had last week, things seem too quiet and mundane. Lol There were five lacrosse games (four of which I attended including one that was grandson #2's Senior Night, granddaughter #5's soccer banquet where she received her award, Easter and granddaughter #1's Surprise 30th Birthday Bash where the theme was "13 Going on 30" from the movie of the same name. It was held at an arcade and was fun for every age that was at the party-Nanas included. Lol Granddaughter #3 did most of the planning for her sister's surprise and she did an amazing job.
We had an Easter brunch at my brother and sister-in-laws house the following day before everyone had to had head home.
I am just going to post some of the many pictures I took all in one post because, even though the plan had been to start my decor swap today, that did not happen...and won't happen tomorrow because I have a ton of errands to run so I need to get this post done so I can get moving forward on the next time I visit. With that in mind, we'll start at Easter and work backwards.
We were actually able to surprise her!
I will have to admit my ignorance. I had not only never seen the movie, I didn't recognize the theme as a movie title so I didn't fully "get" any of the decor, color scheme, props, etc. until granddaughter #3 clued me in. And then when we watched the movie before the party, I GOT it all...including the dress bought for Hannah to wear which is an identical replica of the one worn in the movie. And, "Poise Magazine" is the heroine's work place so the magazine covers with Hannah as the cover model were genius. We purposely used photos from her "awkward" age to follow the movie's theme. They were used as centerpieces on all of the tables-just wish I had photos of all of them for you but I did get some.
We were missing daughter #3 and her family but they were having just as much fun up in Boston for my grandson's college lacrosse game and then Easter in the city all together. It just gets harder to find us all in one place as the "kids" grow and their lives take them farther away from home.
And then for our week full of sports!
Before Becky and I headed to Gainesville on Friday, she got up on my roof and cleaned it and all of the gutters. Because we had so much to do, we left most of it on the ground so I spent a bit of my morning raking all of that up. Now I'm off to catch up on some laundry and make out a grocery list so I can get some "real" food back in the fridge. Lol And then, on Wednesday, I'm hoping to start my swap. The spring decor will be up until the very beginning of June when the 4th stuff makes an appearance so there really isn't a rush but I'm anxious to see if I am going to be able to make any changes. With that said, I'll be back as soon as I can. Stay safe and stay tuned.
